Gerald Biesecker-Mast is Associate Professor of Communication at Bluffton University, Bluffton, Ohio, where he teaches courses in rhetorical theory and criticism, religious communication, public speaking, and Mennonite history. He is co-editor with Susan Biesecker-Mast of Anabaptists and Postmodernity (2000), and with J. Denny Weaver of Teaching Peace: Nonviolence and the Liberal Arts (2003). His writing has appeared in such journals as Rhetoric and Public Affairs, Fides Et Historia, and Mennonite Quarterly Review.

Biesecker-Mast holds a Ph.D. (1995) in rhetoric and communication from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. (1987) in communication arts from Malone College, Canton, Ohio. He is a member of The Mennonite magazine board and belongs to First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.

Born (1965) and raised in Holmes County, Ohio, Biesecker-Mast is married to Susan Lee Biesecker-Mast, who also teaches at Bluffton. They are the parents of Anna Lynn (b. 2000) and Jacob Daniel (2002).
