current
issue or back issues in either HTML or
PDF formats.
FREE E-MAIL
SUBSCRIPTION
Just (1) e-mail us at DSM@CascadiaPublishingHouse.com with a request
that we add you to our e-mailed links or
Acrobat PDF subscription list or (2) use
our online order form below. Whenever an
issue is released, we'll e-mail you links
or a PDF. Cancel at any time by sending
an usubscribe e-mail.
Note that if you request an
e-mail subscription but your e-mail
address changes, we won't be able to
reach you with further e-mails unless you
let us know your new address.
TRADITIONAL MAGAZINE
SUBSCRIPTION (paper)
If you prefer to read DreamSeeker
Magazine in traditional paper
format, simply let us know by e-mail,
phone, or mail. All we need is your name
and address. Or (1) go to our CascadiaPublishing
House/DreamSeeker order form and choose the
"Select DreamSeeker
Magazine" box; (2) use order
form below.
No matter how you subscribe,
we'll enclose bill for current issue plus
however many more issues are left in the
calendar year, at $3.75 per issue. (We
publish quarterly.) Thus for example if
you subscribe in time to receive current
issue and one more, we'll bill $7.50. To
make processing of subscriptions as
efficient and economical as possible, we
renew subscriptions each January by
sending invoice for the coming year with
the January issue. If you choose not to
renew, you simply return the invoice
marked "cancel" and keep that
year's January issue as your parting
gift. You may also cancel at any time and
have any unused portion of your
subscription refunded.
Due to high postage costs, Canada
subscriptions are $5.00 per
issue, $20.00 per year. Other
countries $6/issue, $23.95 per
year. All countries pay in U.S. funds or
contact us to arrange to pay by credit
card for automatic fund conversion.
DESIGN OF PAPER AND
PDF VERSIONS
See current issue in
Acrobat PDF for
DSM design. The Acrobat PDF
version includes some color, whereas the
interior of the paper version is
grayscale and the paper DSM is
appropriately collated and saddlestitch
bound. Otherwise Acrobat and paper are
nearly identical, with the PDF file
including all the hard copy layout
features and graphics. (PDF version
graphics are a bit grainy because your
download timesat least if using
dialupwould soar if we
used higher resolution.)
The design and printing
approaches are intended to strike a
delicate balance between quality and
economy. To produce the paper version, we
are using digital print-on-demand
technology (professional 1200 dpi
Postscript laser) for interior pages and
a two-color cover professionally designed
in collaboration with offset printer
Mennonite Press. We will run some ads but
primarily in back pages. The result is a
relatively simple look in comparison to
full-color glossy magazines yet with a
touch of elegance. We believe our readers
will be drawn to the clean, professional
design focused on conveying content
pleasingly, without the busyness and
overwhelming ad clutter of so many
contemporary periodicals.
SINGLE ISSUE
If you want just one issue,
simply tell us which one, use any of the
order options listed above, and we'll
bill you $3.75 (Can. $5, overseas $6)
when we mail the magazine.
GIFT SUBSCRIPTIONS
An increasing number of readers
are interested in arranging DSM gift
subscriptions. We're delighted to arrange
for this at same prices. Simply use any
contact options except online order forms
(not set up for gift subscription
complexities) to let us know to whom we
should bill gift subscriptions and to
whom to send them.
WHY FREE ONLINE?
Why are the online versions
free, especially since we think the
quality of DSM would justify
charging? Several reasons. First, many
Internet publishers are finding it's
difficult to entice most of you readers
to pay for online material. Second, the
complexities of collecting fees for
online subscriptions would probably prove
as expensive or more so than the revenues
collected. Third, we think readers drawn
to DSM may also check out
DreamSeeker and Cascadia Publishing
House/Pandora Press U.S. books, which is
a good thing. Finally, DSM is a
labor of love; money matters, but
connecting writers and readers who might
otherwise not meet matters as much or
more.
The time may come, as the
Internet and DSM evolve, when we
will charge for online access and
subscriptions. For the foreseeable
future, however, enjoy DreamSeeker
Magazine online at our expense!
